Balancing Redox Equations

½ Reaction Method

1. Write out the ½ reactions (RED & OX)

2. Balance for atoms other then H and O

3. Balance for O’s by adding H₂O. Balance for H’s by adding H+.

4. Balance the electrons (LEO-GER or OILRIG)

5. Balance the electrons and add the two equations. Reduce if possible.
