Shorecrest Technology Tips Website

Technology in the classroom is meant to support the curriculum not drive it. Done properly, technology integration should be seamless. It should almost become invisible to the student. For instance when showing a movie on a TV in the classroom, the students do not "see" the TV instead they see the movie and gain from it's curricular value. This should be the case with all technology; no bells or whistles, just technology supporting the curriculum. Technology alone will not improve student achievement. However, using technology to deliver curriculum or as a tool to research, collect, critically analyze, evaluate, and present information (using other technologies) does improve student achievement. Our students are becoming global learners as we provide them with opportunities to access vast amounts of information on the Internet and interact with the world. By providing access to technology, Shorecrest Preparatory School is increasing our student's educational opportunities and preparing them for success in the future.
