Year Long Courses (Conceptual Physics) : Quarterly:You will be assessed through the use of Tests (100-250pts), Quizzes (75-100pts), Classwork (5-25pts), Labs (50-100pts),Physic Project (50- 100 pts), Performance Tasks (25-100pts), and Homework Completed (50pts). The homework category is worth 50 points each quarter. There is an average of 20-25 homework assignments per quarter. They are graded on completion not on accuracy...it is all completed or is a 0. The % of homework completed to date is multiplied by 50 points available = homework grade. Obviously each assignment has more weight at the beginning of a quarter when there are a few assignments than at the end when there are 25 assignments.

The first semester grade is determined by the following weighting system: 1st quarter (40%), 2nd quarter (40%), 1st semester exam (20%).

The second semester grade is determined by the following weighting system: 3rd quarter (40%), 4th quarter (40%), 2nd semester exam (20%).

The final course grade is determined by the following weighting system: 1st semester grade (50%) and 2nd semester grade (50%).

Semester Courses (Anatomy & Physiology, Marine Biology): Quarterly: You will be assessed through the use of Tests (100-250pts), Quizzes (75-100pts), Classwork (5-25pts), Labs (50-100pts), Traditional Projects & Web-based Projects(50- 100 pts), Performance Tasks (25-100pts), and Homework Completed (50pts). Final Course grade is determined by the following weighting system:

one quarter grade (40% or 50% if exempt final exam), second quarter grade (40% or 50% if exempt final exam), & final exam (20%)
