Course Title: Algebra III
Section: 242-1
Objectives:
Algebra III is offered to those students who have successfully completed Intermediate Algebra and/or juniors and seniors who have completed Algebra 2 but are not inclined to take Pre-Calculus. It is designed to reinforce previously learned mathematical skills as well as to prepare students for college mathematics classes. Topics include a review of numerical, algebraic, radical, exponential, and fractional expressions, solving and graphing conic sections, a study of functions, trigonometry, sequences and series probability and statistics and logarithms.
Methods:
A variety of methods will be used in the instruction of this course. They will include traditional lectures, student centered activities, cooperative group learning, teacher guided discovery, and individual student-textbook learning.
Assessment Procedures:
Assessment of the students is based on test and quiz performance, class participation, group work, homework, and any other assignments or projects that are given.
