The second grade reading and language arts curriculum promotes the love of reading as well as the acquisition of skills necessary for success in reading fluency, comprehension, and expressive writing.

Children are exposed to many different types of literature. An integral part of the program includes an introduction to classic novels, poetry, biographies, and non fiction writing.
