I am reading a book entitled, The Whipping Boy. The main characters in the book are Horace and Jemmy. Prince Horace is very bossy and always thinks he should get whatever he wants. Prince Horace is very rude and is also lonely. Jemmy is a rat catcher before he was chosen to become a whipping boy. Jemmy is very kind. I think Prince Horace and Jemmy are alike because they both live in the same place.
This book shares a custom of royalty having a whipping boy. A whipping boy is someone who was whipped for what a Prince should be punished for. I think that custom is not fair for the person that is being whipped.

I think jemmy and Horace are different because Horace is the son of a King and Jemmy is a person who doesn't have any parents. This book shared a custom of royalty having a whipping boy. A whipping boy is a person in a castle who does not follow the rules in the castle. I thinkn this is a bad custom because it could injure the person who is getting whipped. Also, it won't teach them a lesson.
