Third grade students begin the year reviewing and extending their understanding of the scientific method. Using the McGraw Hill Science text as their guide, students are engaged in hands-on activities and complete projects dealing with topics such as simple machines, the Sun and its family, ecosystems, and natural resources. A weekly visit to the science resource lab reinforces key concepts as well as provides an opportunity to experience science in action.
