Winter Poetry
Students in 1st grade were inspired to write winter cinquain poems after hearing Robert Frost’s poem,
Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening.
A cinquain is a poem of five lines that represents a subject.:
Line 1: one word (noun)
Line 2: two words (adjectives)
Line 3: three words (action verbs)
Line 4: four words (a sentence)
Line 5: one word (synonym of line 1)
Whose woods these are I think I know.
