Winter Slideshows & Poetry
Snow doesn’t come often to Florida, however, on December 19th a “Winter Wonderland” visited the computer lab. Working with collage materials such as styrofoam chips, ribbon, buttons, pipe cleaners, doilies, students were asked to create a winter scene. Then they used digital cameras to take pictures of their creations.

Students also took some time to write cinquain winter poetry.
Ocean Animal Slideshow
First graders enjoyed investigating ocean animals from A to Z this year in conjunction with their program, Commotion in the Ocean. Each student was assigned a different ocean animal to research for homework. Then, they returned to the computer lab to write an informational paragraph about their animal.

Digital Cameras Take on the Alphabet
First graders took a step outside of the lab to go on a digital scavenger hunt. Working with partners, each student was assigned to find objects around campus beginning with three letters of the alphabet. The result is a wonderful alphabet slideshow.
