Middle Division Technology classes provide students with an opportunity to advance their technology skills through an integrated approach to learning. Beginning with fifth grade, each grade level attends a daily technology class for a period of nine weeks. During the remaining portion of the year, Jonathan Davis or I will work within the regular classroom to provide students with continued technology support.
Grades for the class will be composed of both daily performance and overall project grades. Students will receive a rubric for each assignment. Completing all of the required elements will result in a high project grade. Seventy-five percent of their grade in technology is based upon projects. From time to time, projects may be assessed both by the subject area teacher and myself. Students would receive a grade from me for the technology portion of the assignment, as well as, a grade from their subject area teacher for the academic content. Twenty-five percent of their grade is based upon daily performance. This includes a daily assessment of tasks completed, time on task, as well as the student’s willingness to participate in the activities at hand.
