Marine biology is a general term that covers most
of the fields of
oceanography.

is such a general term that most people specialize their research based upon a particular organism, behavior, or ecosystem. For instance one can specialize in molecular biology, aquaculture, environmental biology, or aquatic biology. |

Being a marine
biologist can be very grueling, spending weeks at sea collecting research
or
a day waist deep in mud collecting samples.
Becoming a marine
biologist may require 2-10 years of school after high school. First you need to obtain a strong undergraduate major in biological science. |

biologists have to give lectures and write scientific papers. To become a
teacher most places require a Ph.D.
