| The Mangrove plants are the producers of their own ecosystem, mostly because when their leaves fall off and begin to decay on the ground, it eventuallly grinds up into something called deitrus, which is just matter that is most likely consumed by crabs. This detrital ecosystem thrives because the energy goes from the crab, to a fish, then to a bird. However, it all starts with the sunlight, as the diagram to the left shows. |
