|Because red tide is a serious problem, there have been several organizations and projects created to help deal with the hazardous bloom. Some organizations that deal with red tide in Florida are the Fish and Wildlife Research institute, MOTE Marine Labratory, and Sport Fish Restoration.|
The picture above is of several MOTE marine researchers using an autonomous underwater vehicle to monitor red tide. This autonomous underwater vehicle or AUV is one of many devices that MOTE uses. MOTE and other organizations fighting red tide also uses planes, boats, buoys, and satelites to monitor the red tide concentrations. These devices are esstential for monitoring the blooms and in helping save the lives of such organisms as sea turtles.
