Importance

Some jellyfish are thought of as a very delicious food in China. Jellyfish are eaten both pickled and fresh. Also, jellyfish are a threat to humans by their sting. Most jellyfish stings do not effect humans or cause little irritation, but some can be fatal. The most fatal jellyfish is the Irukandji. The lion's mane jelly is fatal, but it is not often in contact with humans.
