Jellyfish are either male or female. The male jellyfish discharges sperm into the water. The female jellyfish’s ova is fertilized when the sperm swims into the mouth openingof the jellyfish. The larva of jellyfish is called the planula, which is covered in cilia. The planula then swims to a unmovable surface and becomes a polyp, which starts reproducing asexually by budding in which many medusas come off of.
