Distribution
Most shrimp are marine, living close to the bottom or swimming in mid-water column with plankton. Some species live in estuaries, rivers and lakes but none inhabit terrestrial environments. In the Pacific Ocean off the coast of southren Australia more than 130 species have been recorded.
