Giant Clam
Clams and mussels are two shelled members of the Molluscan phylum. Both clams and mussels are bivalves, bodies surrounded by two shells. Both of these bivalves open and close their 2 shells using a hinge type structure. These unsegmented coelomate organisms are usually sessile or very slow moving. Both clams and mussels are economically important.
