Class Gastropoda is the largest and most diverse group in the Molluscan phylum. There are currently about 35,000 species of Gastropods known today. The most common types of Gastropods are snails, flat-shelled limpets, shell-less nudibranchs, abalones, pteropods and terrestrial snails and slugs. Gastropods are usually characterized by a single shell and an asymmetric body. |
