Distribution & Migration
Most flounder are found in the Atlantic Ocean waters from New England all the way down to Florida, and in the waters of the Gulf of Mexico from Florida all the way over to Texas. Flounder usually stay inshore, but as the water cools between October and November, they migrate offshore into the Gulf of Mexico to spawn.
