Flounder swimming along the ocean floor
| The flounder is a flat fish that spends most of
its time on the ocean bottom. Most of the largest flounder can be caught
in north Florida. The peak of flounder season is in the fall. The flounder
is nicknamed the "doormat." They are found in the flats and
they burry themselves in the sand and they take on the same color as
their environment. To catch flounder you want to use bottom rigs since
they are bottom-dwellers. |
Special thanks to: Mr. Succow and my grandfather, Earl Dahlem for their knowledge on flounder fishing.... |
