Groupers Are Great!!

A Grouper
| Groupers
are found all over the place in Florida, ranging from the Keys all the
way to the Panhandle. There are many different types of grouper, about
10 to be more exact. Groupers have very many interesting facts about
them. In my opinion, the most interesting is that some groupers change
from being a female in the early part of their life into a male grouper
when they mature. Most breed in the springtime except for the goliath
grouper which spawn in the summer. Young groupers hang around in mangroves
and seagrass beds while the larger and older fish go offshore and live
on the bottom, often near reefs and artificial structures, such as bridges
and debris. |
