The National Goal of the United States is to reduce the emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG) by almost 20 percent over the next five to ten years.

The goal is to slow, and eventually, stop the growth of emissions of dangerous GHG's into the atmosphere.

Reducing the emissions of these gases can be achieved through technological advances, improved energy efficiency, and industrial cooperation.

Several Federally sponsored programs have been created to help avoid further climate change.
