Egg Drop Eggstravaganza

Purpose- The purpose of this test was to when the box hits the ground to increase the time of impact to decrease the force of impact so that the egg won't break

My egg case was a box in a box the smaller box had my egg hat had ben secured by paking foam. Then the bigger box has the smaller box and is also packed tight with newspaper, foam, and bubble wrap and on the outside i have a sponge to further decreasethe force.

My egg did not break. There is good reason as to why it did not break. I simply increased the time of impact and decreased the force of impact. Here’s why force and time are inversely proportional so, as one increases the other decreases. That is why boxers try to roll with punches. My box had a sponge on the bottom to basically absorb all of the force. The foam and bubble wrap and newspaper, and everything else was just for reassurance. So if you think about it, the earth was the punch and you had to construct a box that rolled with it. That’s what I did.

For future tests I wouldn’t really change much about my design. There was one thing however. When I tried to extract the egg, the packing foam that I had used had not cured entirely and was still sticky, as if it had just come from the can. This happened because I used to much and it wasn’t allowed to dry in the space it had. I’m happy that, that really the only bad thing that happened.
