Figure1: The is using 100 newtons to push on the wall, the wall uses 100 newtons to push back. It is an equal bforce between the two.

 

Newton's third law states,whenever an object exerts a force on a second object,the second force exerts the same force back to the first object. As Newton realized that forces are not one thing, on its own, but an interaction between two things, for example a hammer and a nail.

Figure 2: Why is the book not falling through the table? The book and the table are both using an equal amount of force to balance each other out.
