We chose to give to UNICEF for two major reasons, the focus on children and the credibility of this organization.

We are specifically concerned about the welfare of Darfur's children. UNICEF focuses their effort on children in crisis around the world. Darfur happens to be a major priority at this time. Ninety-one percent of monies donated to The U.S. Fund for UNICEF directly support UNICEF Programs. The U.S. Fund for UNICEF tries very hard to keep administrative costs to an absolute minimum. They hold a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator.

UNICEF's Emergency Crisis Fund also provides a means for us to offer a safe, secure vehicle for online donations. This link will take you directly to the Shorecrest "Kids Galore" Team donation page. Please consider giving a gift to help UNICEF make a difference to children in crisis.

Members of the Shorecrest Community who wish to earmark funds specifically for Darfur can send a check to Mrs. Drexler's classroom made out to United States Fund for UNICEF . Please DO NOT make checks out to Shorecrest. All checks will be forwarded to UNICEF under the code ESJXZ, specifying that monies go to Darfur.
