Children in the Darfur region of Sudan are dying. The militia and Janjaweed are responsible for as many as 400,000 deaths and 2,500,000 displaced refugees. The Janjaweed steal the farmer's livestock and land. The livestock is used for transportation. The farm land is taken over. Houses are burned and bombed. The children who are being attacked must run for their lives. Some make it to Chad safely. Others do not. Some families try to return to their homes to begin again. They hope that the Janjaweed will not attack again. They hope to live in peace with others in their country. -Bailee and JoAnn
