How dose multiplication make you feel? After this rap of multiplication think really hard about it. Gobbly turkey was really mean. 6x3=18/ While in the woods I was charged by a boar 6x4=24/ I put some jelly on my hot dog bun. 7x3=21/ The goppy glue stuck to my shoe. Eeew! 6x7=42/ I ate some bait off my dinner plate. 6x8=48/ I swang from a vine and broke my spine. 7x7=49. Math is interesting to me because it has lots of operations. My favorite one is multiplication because its really easy ,and really fun! When you get the hang of it, its really easy! You need multiplication when you`re bigger, because you need to sort out papers, organize tables or chairs, and lots of other stuff. Imagine if we didint have multiplication. It would be so frustrating.

These multiplication stories are exampes of how multiplication works. Multiplication has many ways of checking itself. The same with division.

You have 34 pennies. I give you 34 give more pennies and so does your friend. How many pennies do you have now?

102 pennies.

34x3=102

This problem is the same as 34+34+34, or 34+68. You can check multiplication propblem with division: 102 divided by 3=102. This is a division number story:

Oceana had 12 photos. Ludovica had half as many photos as Oceana. How many photos does Ludovica have?

6 photos.

12 divided by 2=6

In this problem, you divide 12 in half. The problem 12 divided by 6 is the same as 6+6 or 6x2. Multiplication checks division.

Multiplication is great for number stories. Here are some examples:

Peter was at school when he found pencils. There where 9 rows of 9. When he went home he told his brother. The next day he saw even more pencils. There were 8 rows of 8 . Then he went home and gave them all to his brother.How many does Peter's brother have?

Frank went to the store and bought a box full of candies. It had 10 rows of 10. He brought it home and put it on his bed. His brother Luis bought a box full of candies that had 8 rows of 9 how many do they have all together?

Multiplication is so important because it is just a faster way to do math. If you didn't have multiplication you'ld have to add lots of numbers.

I'm going to North Carolina this Thanksgiving. My mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, my pet birds, and my little sister are coming, too! We're going to make projects and eat lots of food! My uncle's house will be stuffed when we all come. We're going to stay there for three days. My most favorite food is pie!!!!!!! I think we are going to have a blast.

For my Thanksgiving feast I have turkey and duck. I have green bean casserole as a sidedish along with oyster stuffing. I savor the sour taste of my cranberries. The sweet, crunchy applecake is my favorite desert. Sometimes pumpkin pie is served topped off with whipped cream. I enjoy the melted, creamy taste of it. When I finish the Thanksgiving meal, I continue reading, doing my homework, or practicing on the piano. For lunch the next day, I will eat the leftovers. Delicious!!!!! This is how my vacation will end.

I was playing with my turkey friends at the store when someone bought me. First they froze me for a week. Then they put me in the oven for 4 hours. I was so hot! That night they positioned me on the table and the stuffing jumped into me. The pumpkin pie was situated on my left and the cranberry sauce to my right. The mashed potato was placed in front of me. The dog wanted to devour us all, but he couldn't beacuse they locked him in a cage. After that, everyone came in for dinner. They ate until all were full. When the people left, the leftovers were given to the dog.

Big Cats

Tigers can climb up trees very well. Some big cats sleep in tress. Some bobcts and panthers take a nap in trees. The cheetah can run really, really, really fast. Lions are the kings of Africa because they eat most of the meat in Africa. Big cats come in all shapes and sizes. The big cats eat more than the little cats. Some big cats live in the jungle like the tigers or the panthers. Most big cats live in the desert like the lions or cheetahs.

AFTER

The Walking Desk

Once upon a time there was a walking desk. The desk even spoke. Too bad it lived in a classroom. It would eject when children tried to study or write on it's surface. Children laughed because this desk wore clothes andd ate! Sometimes you could find it dancing or playing a sport in the Dasio Park. Joan Schulson saw it ddevouring a donut once! The Dasio Park is named after the dasies that grow there, or at least used to grow there. A walking desk picked them all for a centerpiece in the classroom.

AFTER

Tennis is Great!

Before
I started playing tennis 2 years ago. My dad and brother started playing. That's why I play tennis. I play every day of the week. I eat fruit to be healthy and be stronger. When I run it makes me faster so I can get every ball. When I play with my brother, we have fun! He likes to play, and he is really good.


After
Tennis captured my attention about 2 years ago. My dad and brother began practicing. That inspired me to perfect the game. Every day of the week I go out there and smash that ball . I gobble some fruit to be healthy and stronger. When I challenge my brother to a race I get faster so I can reach every ball. When my brother and I study tennis together we have fun! He enjoys practice and he is outstanding at it.

If Iwas a member of the Tocobaga tribe I would go dress, go out side, catch some fish, and it will be breafeast for my family. I would go do my chores and when I`m done with that, I would go play with my friends. We would play catch. If I had a pet it would be a horse. I would ride her to get some water and I think it is helpful. My name for the Tocobaga tribe would be Momo. I would pick berries, corn or any type of fruit I could find. If my dad was a Tocobaga tribe member he would be a hunter. If my mom was a Tocobaga tribe member, she would be an expert pottery maker. My mom would also pick some fruit for the tribe. When I'm done with my day I would go to bed.
