Fourth Grade Teacher-Bailee

Dear 4th Grade Teacher,

My name is Bailee. I have heard about 4th grade and I think it is pretty cool. I can't wait 'til' fourth grade! But how long will we have to write in cursive? I hate cursive. I write faster and neater in manuscript. Then these teachers teach you another way to write that takes AGONIZINGLY SLOW moments just to finish one word!!! :(
In fact the draft to this blog was written in manuscript. What do you like to do? I like to sculpt, paint, read, NOT WRITE, run, sing, and go on cruises. I don't like tests, but I am never scared or worried about them. A lot of people spell my name B-A-I-L-E-Y, or B-A-L-E-E, or even: B-A-L-I-E-E-L-A-E. Where did that come from? I LOVE The Phantom of the Opera! I am obsessed with it. I talk about about 99.99999% of the time. I want to know what aout what different types of math there are in 4th grade, and what else is new.
See you soon,

- Bailee ( who's name is spelled that way)
I have heard rumors about fourth grade; and according to them it is great! I definitely hope this is true for it is the last grade in the lower division. My biggest concern is MATH!!!!!!!!. I do not know which teacher I am getting but I bet they are all nice. I know I will inherit a ton of information and if the year runs smoothly a good report card as well. We just looked at the colonial displays and they look great! I really look forward to the ''wonders'' of fourth grade.

Dear Fourth Grade Teacher,
My name is Zack. I am 9 years old. My favorite hobby is to catch lizards. My favorite subjects are P.E., Math, and Science. I am not worried about anything we were taught in third grade. I don`t know if I should be concerned about anything in fourth grade. This year we did two big projects, a Native American Project and an Explorer Project. We did only 1 or 2 field trips this year. I know I will like fourth grade no matter what teacher I get.

3rd Grade Advice - Bailee

Dear Second Graders,
Third Grade is wonderful. We write blogs, we read great books, and sing great songs. But we have to write in cursive. UHH! I hate cursive (no offense to those who like it ). I don't know why it was created. Besides, I write faster in manuscript. But the best part is...

DRUM ROLL PLEASE

We get to dissect SQUID!!!!!!!

Before I dissected the squid, I was a little squeamish. But when I cut its head open and saw all its guts, I knew, that I was FREE!!! I loved it. It was amazing, but it smelled. I actually cut off its suckers! In Mrs. Drexler's class we made a website to help Darfur, Sudan. We got over $6,000 for the country.

Enjoy 3rd grade,
Bailee

Dear Second Grader,
To me third grade is fun and annoying. Things we do in third grade include a lot of cursive and multiplication. Some things that will be new to you will be ERB testing and the Presdentiol fitness testing. At first fractions were hard for me and now they`re a piece of cake. The easiest thing to me in third grade is multiplication. My favorite subjects are P.E. and Math. If you are in Mrs. Drexler's class you will probably do a lot of projects. This year we did a Darfur website and earned over $6,000. You might want to ask your mom to give you easy math problems.

Sincerely,
Zack

Dear second graders,
I dare say you will struggle with third grade. You will learn partial-products and lattice and other great many things. But the main thing to third grade is: MULTIPLICATION! And please do follow these instuctions: If you are opening your letter to tell you which teacher you have, pat yourself on the back for complex, but elating projects await you.

Mrs. Rowe is a very special teacher. She is one of the only teachers I have that went to school with my daddy. Mrs. Rowe is very unique in many ways. She always has a gorgeous smile on her face. She knows how to explain things and always encourages me. She gives me pointers and teaches me about color, blending, and shadow. I love her artistic talents and ways to cheer me up! She is a wonderful teacher and a most extraordinary friend. I LOVE U MRS. ROWE!
Coach Every is a special teacher. Coach Every coaches P.E with Coach Shane. Usually on a Friday he will do a fun game like capture the ball. When we are walking to the big gym he`ll say we should be quiet so we won't interrupt the classes. Coach Every yells just to get our attention. He' s really patient. When we`re siting in the field, he`ll just stand there and wait until we`re quiet. Coach Every is my special teacher.

Mr. T is a very special teacher. He is so nice he lets us play chess at lunch. He lets kids have fun and does not limit things we can learn about. He has a good sense of humor, too. I also find that he is almost always happy. I could go on and on and on about how kind he is, but I can't so I hope you learned a lot about Mr. T.
What IS Eath Day? Earth Day is the day we celebrate by cleaning up and respecting the Earth. Way back in the 1900's America was a disgusting land of trash. People littered. People polluted. People killed many plants and animals. Then Senitor Nelson saw that it was just too much! He quickly organized the first Earth Day. But after a while people went back to their old ways. Astronauts saw that if Earth was polluted too badly, there would be no other place to go. Dennis Hayes, a young college student, and the United Nations made Earth Day a National holiday! Every human makes about 2 kilograms of trash each YEAR! Maybe even more! We need to stop the flow. Recycle or use both sides of a piece of paper. Cars produce enormous amounts of dangerous gases. Try riding your bike, or walking places. Find people to help clean your community. People cut down a lot of trees. Try buying lots of rainforest products. Buying nuts and other foods from the rainforest will make clerks and woodcutters know that we like them and they will save some of the trees. Make sure (get it?) your Earth Day's a happy and CLEAN one!
Earth Day is a day that you learn about the environment. The person who thought of Earth Day is Senator Nelson. We've done some things to harm the environment. Our landfills are leaking deadly chemicals that can get into our drinking water. When we burn coal it lets off gases that get in to the air. A way we make a really big impact is by cutting down whole forests of trees. A way we can help the environment is by recycleing paper. The second way is to try to turn of electronics so we won't have to burn fuels. This is important because if the Earth is destroyed, we won`t have anywhere to go. A thing you can do is to ask congressmen to pass laws to stop polluting.
Earth Day is a way to help nature. People are polluting too much. In St. Pete, all of the garbage leads to a giant insinerator and the insinerator releases harmful gases. Harmful chemicals and acid seep through the ground and to the rock below. We can do things to help such as recycle, reuse and other things to help the enviorment. I think it is very important to conserve the world around us and not let it fall to our devastation.
Tennis is the only sport I play so I have plenty of time to play it. I play tennis 6 times a week. I have been on this schedule for six years. I play at the Vinoy Tennis club. The clinics are 2 hours long, and the lessons are an hour or an hour and a half. I appreciate my sport and hope to be a professional some day.
One thing I like to collect is money. I have about 50 coins from around the world. 2/3 of the coins my grandma gave me. I'm trying to set a record. When my dad was a kid he collected nickels on his birthday. If I see any Canadan coins in our penny jar, I'll ask my dad to see if I could keep it. But if it is something like a silver dollar I will say I'll pay 2 dollars. The second thing I like to collect are bounce balls. I have a bunch. I have some the size of your fist. I have some the size of your finger nail. Some bounce high and some bounce low. When I had a garage sale I gave some away for free. These are the things I like to collect.
