The Kickapoo lived in a lot of places. It took scientists a very long time to find out about where and how they lived because it is always hard for scientists to find out what happened long ago. Their were two anthropolologists named Ritzenthaler and Peterson. They wanted to find out a lot about the Kickapoo so they did a lot of research on this. They discovered that the Kickapoo were granted land by the king of Spain in 1775. They lived in Michigan and Ohio. The Kickapoo lived in Dome shaped houses. There are four Kickapoo tribes today in Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, and Mexico. They were forced onto Kansas and Oklahoma reservations. Very few lived on their original homeland. They were forced to move many times.
